intelligent design or the not so intelligent creation of a myth
There is much controversy surrounding not only the famed Birkenau underground gas chambers, but also the lack of cyanide residue, the associated Kremas and their capacity as well as the overall Camp, the descriptions used in aerial photography and the alleged methodology how these mass murders were carried out.
Last not least the assertions who destroyed these facilities and the reasons for the destruction.
It is best to begin with an analysis of the version as presented by Yad Vashem and many other web sites which use these 3D models :
and in addition also sketches such as this one, as seen left in the picture, I have added to that a rearranged sketch on the right:
The mass murder according to Yad Vashem and many other web sites proceeded in this fashion:
The victims descended the steps through #A into the sub terrain "Undressing room #C. Then proceeded through the narrow pathway in building #H and turned the corner to enter the through a narrow door the sub terrain structure #D, that bears the description homicidal gas chamber.
Here it is said Zyklon B granulate was sprinkled down vents that were (or were not?) on the roof, which was only 3 feet above ground elevation.
After a much argued over length of time the victims had succumbed to the Hydrocyanic acid fumes which had evaporated from the Zyklon B granulate and then the gas chamber had been vented with a forced air exchange system.
Sonder Kommandos descended through building #H through the narrow passage into the gas chamber # D after HCN concentration levels were no longer toxic.
The corpses had to be dragged the entire length of build #D to a shaft in #H which is said to have had an elevator to transport the corpses up to the ground floor level in building #H.
Once there the corpses had to be transported through another narrow doorway into the Crematorium Building #F for incineration.
It was only after this point, that the Architect had considerations for ease of operation and Yad Vashem + others show us rails with wagons, typically used to transport coal with the explanation that with these up to 6 bodies could be transported and "thrust into the ovens"
This Krema is said to have had 5 ovens. The flue of all ovens was connected by a flue gas manifold at ground level, (...according to these sketches) to the chimney in building #G.
Since there was no incline from the exhaust of the ovens to the point where the flue manifold discharged into the chimney, there was not enough natural chimney draft and a complicated forced exhaust had been used to compensate for this design flaw.
Many Revisionists have expressed their doubts, if a German Architect or any German engineer would have designed this facility in this fashion had the intended function been the mass destruction of human beings.
I concur and make the assertion that such a facility, had Germans designed one for such a purpose would have followed the famous Dr. Ferdinand Porsche Principle:
"Form follows Function"...
But as we can see in the Model, the sketch and the explanation is the exact opposite of one of the most sensible engineering principles and if the buildings had been used as claimed the exact opposite was the case.
The methods with which the function has to be carried out has to be "make do" adjusted to the form!
The right side of the above sketch is using the picture elements of the usual published Birkenau sketches in a rearranged fashion, which would not only have heeded thee most important engineering / design principle in the mind of every German schooled engineer now and then....but would also have saved building materials and construction cost.
It is common knowledge that live persons can climb stairs while corpses cannot, but that corpses have the ability to free fall down through multiple trap doors.
Thus live beings should enter through #A into the ground level "Undressing Room" then climb stairs to such a "Gas chamber".
After a batch of mass murder had been committed there would be no need to wait for "venting time", trap doors would open and gravity discharge the contents of this gas chamber into a wide open, well vented structure below on ground level.
Here the infamous "Sonder Kommando" could perform the ghastly deeds as "Eye witnesses" have testified,....the pulling of gold teeth, the removal of human hair to be used to "produce mattresses for German women" and all the gore the Architect who designed the Birkenau/Auschwitz Kremas could not even imagine!
Following this step, again through multiple gravity dumps the so violated corpses could be discharged into a sub terrain ante room to the level were a Crematorium serving such evil purposes should be.
Had it been designed with the "Form follows function" principle, the multiple manifold of a below ground incineration facility would have had an incline to the chimney house and chimney in building #G.
The resulting natural chimney draft would eliminate the necessity of a forced suction system. In addition to this the coal to fire the ovens could be dropped down through coal chutes. In many old German towns and villages you can still see these metal lid covered coal chutes on the side walk.
But we can see from the remnants of these structures in Birkenau that there is no resemblance to anything that could be described a form as a consequence of function structure here.
Despite that official Historians substantiate their Mass Murder function due to the presence of the remnants after demolition , the 2 sub terrain structures and have challenged Revisionists to explain what other purpose these could have served.
Revisionism has been astonishingly quiet about these and have no reasonable suggestions regarding any alternative use for what purpose these structures could have been.
Every debate simply stops short at this point and we have a stale mate due to the absence of any cyanide residue in the "gas chamber".
There are however some tell tale signs that suggest that the building complex was something entirely else. Historians are not engineers and if we leave it up to historians to make the judgment call what these buildings were, they would draw a blank and thus all that is left are the highly questionable "Eye Witness" testimonies, right down to the assertion that the SS "blew up" these buildings to leave no proof . That in turn plus the lack of alternate possibility is converted into a further "proof" by Historians that the "Gas chamber" theory is the correct one.
On the other hand, if an engineer looks at these pictures an experienced engineer immediately spots very familiar shapes and construction methods of something entirely different:
Especially when noting the shape of the brick wall and the fact that both "chambers" were under ground and covered with a roof:
Note the similarity. Historians would not associate a sub terrain brick wall with a water basin, but these can be and have been frequently constructed. Concrete was not as easily available as brick in Auschwitz , but brick certainly was as you could see from many other pictures.It is not necessary to tile such a wall to have a functional water clarification basin.
Also such a water basin would typically be under ground and covered with a roof, just like this more modern one, which is tiled brick or concrete:
This is a Water purification basin, not an uncommon sight to an engineer, but certainly not something a historian gets to see often, nor the general public who allows these historians to make the judgment calls what was in Auschwitz & Birkenau and what purpose it served.
So once one considers that these mysterious "hidden underground chambers" were not chambers at all, but rather basins the entire structure makes a lot more sense.
Referring to the sketch on top #C was the purification basin, under ground and covered with a roof (of course!). Purified water in basin #C was connected through the Pump house #H to the storage reservoir, also on the same level as #C , also under ground and also covered.
Covered not only to prevent contamination, but also to prevent freezing.
Such basins need to be covered and should in the interest of energy conservation have as little overhead space as possible for insulation purposes.
In this case the head space above ground was only 3 feet.
Yes that would take a steel re-enforced flat roof, which is expensive to build and is not done just for the fun of it. An "A" frame steeple is a lot simpler and cheaper to build, but would create the head space which would be detrimental during cold winter temperatures.
Pump house #H is not the kind of bottle neck design blunder when water flows from basin #C to basin #D as it is, should one insist that the basins were not basins but rooms and the flow was a flow of people rather than water.
Pumps at that time were for the most driven directly by steam, rather than electricity and thus the boilers would have to be where they were sketched and labeled as incinerators or Kremas for gassing victims.
The only thing that flows to and from the boiler room #F is steam through pipes to the pumps that are powered by it in pump house #H....and of course the delivered coal into #F from the outside (ultimately from the rail...will come to that at [*]).
And yes, the coal went into the combustion chamber quite efficiently with theses miniature coal lorries which were pushed on narrow rails .
All true to the Dr.Ferdinand Porsche Principle "Form follows Function" and all considered one has to conclude that neither the architect nor his design was stupid...
Only the notion and the insistence that these were gas chambers and a Krema that operated the way "Eye witnesses" and acclaimed Experts/Historians make public profusely.
But especially on the picture showing this remnant:
There is another forensic (engineering) tell tale sign. It is claimed that the SS "blew" these buildings up to wipe out all proof how Mass murder was committed using a Water purification plant. This sign points the finger at someone other than the SS and clearly shows the sequence of events how this facility was demolished.Normally before a building is taken down with the "implosion" method a "test shot" is performed, to determine the amount of charge it takes to blast the concrete off the construction steel (re-bar). :
Test shot or not, the blast to cause the intended structural failure is always carried out as low as possible on any structural component such as a pillar.
Certainly not in the middle as it is with the pillars shown in the picture of the ruin.
One would however have to blast it at that location since in an eagerness to implicate "the Nazis" the boiler house #F as well as the Pump house #H and their contents are mechanically dismantled and destroyed. Unfortunately that left the perpetrators at the final stage with 2 basins full of water and the whole thing has to look as if the "Nazis blew it up". With no more pump house or the steam to power these pumps, that leaves only the choice to blast the support pillars where no demolition expert would do it, right up there in the middle, because that was then just above the water level in the basins.
It is also not necessary to place a charge with a ballistic strength high enough to sheer off the steel itself as was done with these pillars. That was done solely for appearance sake, "The SS dynamited these buildings"
rather than to achieve a structural failure as any trained demolition and/or military engineer then and now would have done it.
These kind of charges are placed only on steel beams! ...and they are not Dynamite.
Well that did not matter, since the propaganda warriors that did carry out the demolition were confident, that this little glitch was of no consequence. Reading through all the arguments pro and con,I conclude they were right.
Last not least one can show the "Porsche Prinzip" was the prevailing guideline for the entire Birkenau camp design with this aerial picture:

Top right you can see the river. Next to it the entire infrastructure dealing with water influent and effluent, exactly were it should be, next to the river. Not only that but in duplicate, with "fail safe" redundancy provision in mind.

The rail spurs on which coal and all other material was supplied to this infrastructure was the symmetry axis of the individual facility placement and it`s duplicate twin.
The 2 circles visible top right are typical for waste water treatment facilities we still use everywhere today.
There also was a "twin" to this one on the other side of the rail, visible with 4 such circular aeration basins. It is visible on other photos!
Next is a water purification plant and on the other side of the rail spurs its "fail save" twin.
Both labeled in every published photograph as "Gas Chamber" and "Undressing Room".
Some photos even come with crude alterations such as dots which are the "Zyklon B" shafts and "group of prisoners on their way to the gas chambers"..
The entire design plus the layout certainly merits the description "intelligent design", that we all know the engineers of a nation that gave us amongst other things rocket science were capable of.
We are however (strongly) encouraged to believe the opposite, in some countries with the aid of criminal persecution and accept the description of Eye witnesses and the logical deductions of Historians that for example write the description "Gas chamber" on the air Photo that shows 2 Water purification facilities.
Van Pelt is described as "Historian of Architecture" and as such surely similar thoughts concerning the true nature of these buildings described as homicidal gas chambers must have crossed his mind. Especially the "Form follows Function" notion.
The entire subject has not been exactly at the forefront of public interest, were it not for Germany`s "Bild" Zeitung. "Das Bild" had recently made a great spectacle they called
"The gift of truth"....."Das Geschenk der Wahrheit".
These were Auschwitz building plans, signed by none other that H.Himmler.
"Bild" says these were found in an apartment in Berlin.
"Bild" would not say by whom.
But "Bild" Zeitung did make claims, that these had been examined by German Authorities , which confirmed these plans to be authentic.
Later Mr. van Pelt remarked this about this "Gift of truth" in an article in Haaretz, "The Jewish World"

"Prof. Robert Jan van Pelt, a internationally acknowledged expert on the planning and construction of Auschwitz, said that based on what he had seen on the Internet, there seemed to be nothing new about the documents. He was one of several scholars who expressed doubts about the significance of the Bild story.
Van Pelt, an architectural historian, said that copies of the plans of the stages of the camp's construction were also in the archive of the Polish National Museum at Auschwitz and in an archive in Moscow. He said that the source of the new copies was unclear since, according to Bild, the plans were found in an apartment in Berlin, whereas copies that were in the SS offices in Berlin were destroyed by Allied bombing in 1944. Van Pelt said he also doubted the authenticity of the signature of the SS chief, Heinrich Himmler, since such a high-ranking officer would not have signed such plans, and none of the copies he had ever seen bore such a signature.

Van Pelt suggested the plans might be fakes, motivated by the lucrative market in Nazi memorabilia and documents.
Ralf Georg Reuth, the historian who wrote the piece in Bild, told Haaretz yesterday that the existence of such plans in Russian archives was known, "but German institutions have no originals, and therefore the importance of the finding of such original material is very great." Reuth would not elaborate on where and when the plans were discovered, or whether they had been submitted to experts for study.
Not exactly a surprise, since this was not the first time "Bild" Zeitung has been caught with falsifications and Professor van Pelt`s credibility could have suffered, had he not distanced himself from this notorious scandal tabloid style "News Paper" which amongst other things re-published a 35 word story from Iran as a full page article , headline "Lion tears caretaker to pieces" ...including graphic pictures of the attack.
Later it became public, that these pictures were taken as stills from an amateur video, that had circulated on the internet 3 months prior to this article.
Nevertheless should a German citizen publish these facts in Germany and dare make any deductions in reference to the authenticity of any material concerning the Holocaust he would be tried in a court of law for "Holocaust denial".
Concerning this blog, I dare say, were Jean Claude Pressac still alive today to re-examine the same buildings using the Porsche principle also for reverse engineering he would not only have not dismissed it, certainly would have been willing to openly discuss it and who knows, perhaps use the term basin instead of "gas chamber".
It was his willingness to openly discuss any discrepancy on an intellectual level with revisionists, which made him the most widely respected historian even amongst revisionists.
I hope the above did not make you yawn while you were reading it, and if it did here is a little anti dote to boredom, also in the spirit of Dr. Porsche, if You do it, do it right.
